Throughout history, Cache Valley has been known to be a safe place for traders and trappers to cache, or store, their valuable goods. For over 50 years, Cache Valley Bank has been dedicated to providing its customers with that same level of security and peace of mind. What began as a small local bank has grown to become one of the largest community banks in Utah, with a presence in Southern Idaho.

Our History
- 1975
- Cache Valley’s newest bank opened on October 2, 1975, under the name North Park Bank of Commerce. It was created to serve farmers, small businesses, and local families with community-first values.
- 1982 – 1983
- The bank faced challenges that led to a complete change in ownership and leadership in 1982. The bank changed its name to Cache Valley Bank and moved its office from North Logan to Logan’s Main Street.
- 1980s – 1995
- Through the ’80s and early ’90s, Cache Valley Bank grew steadily, relying on trust, conservative lending, and local support. On August 1, 1995, the creation of Cache Valley Banking Company secured local ownership and offered stability as the bank moved forward.
- 1995 – 2006
- During this twelve-year period, the bank experienced modest but steady growth, supported by the community and guided by respected local leaders.
- 2007 – 2014
- During the 2007-2011 financial crisis, Cache Valley Bank remained strong, guided by experienced leadership, skilled lenders, and a proactive approach. By supporting borrowers and acquiring select assets, the bank grew nearly fivefold, expanding from Cache Valley into a regional presence spanning northern to southern Utah.
- 2017 – 2019
- Cache Valley Bank purchased Proficio Bank in Cottonwood Heights in 2017, giving the bank a foothold in the Salt Lake Valley and access to a national SBA market. It also established branches in Ogden and Bountiful, joining Layton to form the Wasatch region.
- 2020 – 2021
- In 2020 as Covid-19 disrupted communities, Cache Valley Bank took action and jumped wholeheartedly into the Paycheck Protection Program. By helping thousands of businesses keep their workforces employed, the bank supported local economies while strengthening its growth and reputation.
- 2022 – 2025
- Cache Valley Bank continued to focus on reaching customers and filling out its presence in market areas with new branches in Logan, Hyrum, Preston, and Cedar City. The bank is also expanding its efforts into core areas of the Wasatch front.
- Today
- Fifty years later, Cache Valley Bank is one of the largest community banks in Utah, serving customers with 24 locations stretching from the Southern border of Idaho to Southern Utah. The bank’s approach is still rooted in what matters most, local customers, local lenders, and local decision-making.
